Dear family and friends:
Many of you are concerned about the situation in Turkey and those of us the nearby neighbors. We are fine in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Thank you for all your prayers.
Thank God, that Jim and Sophia left Istanbul about three hours before the coup attempt. It is now 3:30 pm and I see that they opened the airport in Istanbul. The army generals just a short time ago flew illegally into Alexandroupolis, the Greek city closest to Turkey. They are asking for asylum in Greece.
Please be praying for the Turkish people, the millions of refugees there and all the missionaries and tourists.
With love in Him, vula
Last Sunday, June 12th was an amazing time in Yastrebovo, Bulgaria. God is amazing! He blessed us with a Ministry House there a few years ago that also housed a church. By His grace and faithfulness, we outgrew the church space but God continues to bless and last Sunday we broke ground for a new church room to accommodate all the adults and the old church will be used by the children. I was blessed to have with me Paul and Barbara VanMaanen, who faithfully serve in Yastrebovo for many years and Julie and Courtney Wollan. To God be the glory!
Yesterday the team and I visited the precious village of Pamuchi, Bulgaria where we have a sweet congregation. Although they all still live in chicken coops, they very proudly cultivated a piece of land and these are the results of their labor. We put a well in every plot of land and the dry land brought forward these wonderful crops. We praise God for His faithfulness all these years!
