Ministry impressions – Tyler Holbrook

This has been my first trip to the Balkans, and it has not disappointed. I have been so encouraged by Vula and her ministry.

Along with a few others (some from CPC Danville, some not) I arrived in Greece to support Macedonian Outreach on July 11. We spent time adjusting to the time change and planning for our upcoming trip to North Macedonia, while also enjoying God’s beautiful creations at the foot of Mount Olympus and the shore of the Aegean Sea.

Early Monday morning, we began our journey to North Macedonia where we spent three days supporting a conference for children with special needs and their parents. At Hotel Montana, overlooking the mountain town of Krusevo (meaning the place of pear trees), I spent time laughing, playing games, doing crafts, and teaching the Bible to 12 children with disabilities as their parents sat in seminars designed to give them tools to care for their children and themselves.

In the three days, I taught through the stories of Zacchaeus, Jesus Healing the Leper, and the Resurrection of Lazarus. I was struck by the emphases that came out of my mouth as I tried to explicate their meaning to the reality of these individuals. As I spoke to them, I heard these old and familiar stories in a new light and felt the Lord ministering to me as I served others.

It was such a blessing to serve with Macedonian Outreach and I am so thankful for the support from so many back home!
